Cheers! BYOB Wine/Spirits Bottle Gift Tote

Bringing a bottle of wine as a gift? Make it reusable for going to BYOB restaurants or on a picnic!

Materials needed:
Aunt Lydia’s #3 Fashion Thread – 150 yards/137 meters
Size E hook
Yarn needle
Stitch marker

This pattern fits a .750 liter and larger bottle. Lots of stretch in the mesh design! 

Stitches needed:
Chain (ch)
Single crochet (SC)
Slip stitch (sl st)

Space (sp)

Difficulty:  Easy


Use a  stitch marker at the beginning of each round.

Base:
Rnd 1:  Magic Ring, or Ch 4, sl st to form ring, 6 sc in ring
Rnd 2:  2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
Rnd 3:  *sc, 2 sc in next sc* Repeat from * around (18 sc)
Rnd 4:  *sc in next 2 sc,, 2 sc in next sc* Repeat from * around (24 sc)
Rnd 5:  *sc in next 3, 2 sc in next sc* Repeat from * around (30 sc)
Rnd 6:  *sc in next 4, 2 sc in next sc* Repeat from * around (36 sc)
Begin mesh:
Rnd 7:  *Ch 3, sk 1 sc, sc in next* Repeat from * (18 ch 3 spaces made)
Rnd 8-30:  *Ch 3, sc in next ch 3 space* Repeat from *
Handles:
Rnd 31:  3 sc in each ch 3 sp (54 sc)
Rnd 32-33:  Sc around
Rnd 34:  Sl st in first sc, *ch 15, sk 15 sc, sc in next  12 sc* Repeat from *
Rnd 35: *20 sc in ch 15 space*, sc to next ch 15 sp,  Repeat from *, sc to end
Rnd 36-37:  Sc around
Finishing:
Optional Rnd:  Rev sc around
Finish off, weave in ends.
